The City of Toronto’s top doctor said officials had “activated all emergency heat measures” as the city sweltered from prolonged periods of extremely high temperatures.
Michelle Murti, Toronto’s medical officer of health, said the orange alert for extreme heat means the city is working hard to try to keep residents cool.
“Environment Canada has anticipated that because of the severity and duration of this heat alert, we expect health impacts from the persistent heat that they will experience for several days,” he told Global News.
“Every time we have a heat warning for several days, it really takes a toll on the body.”
The warning for Toronto predicts temperatures between 31 and 34 degrees Celsius, and rising to 37 degrees Celsius in some areas. Humidity will increase the actual heat, with Wednesday and Thursday expected to be the hottest days of the week.
Toronto’s heat management strategy means public swimming pools are open longer, along with wading pools and increased access to air-conditioned public spaces such as community centers and libraries.

The elderly and children, as well as those who are homeless, are at highest risk.
“For those on the street, we’re giving out bottled water; these outreach workers are trying to get them to cooling centres,” said Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow on Tuesday.
Facing criticism for closing some cooling centers early, the City of Toronto has set up a 24-hour cooling center at 136 Spadina Rd. and has added about 100 additional spaces to its shelters.
Lorraine Lam, of the Shelter and Justice Network, said many of the city’s efforts to reassure communities cannot be applied to its most vulnerable residents.
“They don’t go to the pool to cool off,” he said. “Also, can you imagine the craziness that might result if unhoused people showed up at the splash site? We just know that’s not realistic.”
He said the city should do more to advertise its solutions.
“Before 2020, when the city had 24-hour cold storage throughout the city, they had a program that allowed people to access free transportation to get to the places they wanted to go.
Even so, Murti continued to push for city facilities, asking everyone to be alert for signs of heat exhaustion and to use public cooling rooms if necessary.
“We have continuous services available around the clock and then during periods like this, when the heat alert is activated, we will increase hours for things like swimming pools and wading pools, all our civic service centers are open to visit,” he explained.

PakarPBN
A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
