Nova Scotia RCMP say some of their cruisers were damaged after officers abandoned them due to protests on Thursday.
RCMP officers were executing a search warrant at the storefront of an illegal marijuana shop on Highway 4 in Potlotek at 7:30 a.m. when a group of people gathered to protest and blocked the highway.
“For the safety of protesters, officers chose not to leave the scene in their vehicles. After officers cleared their vehicles of weapons, they departed on foot and their vehicles remained in Potlotek,” the force said in a news release Friday.

“Hwy. 4 was illegally blocked by heavy equipment and a group of protesters throughout the day. Balancing respect for the rights of protesters with law enforcement, the Richmond County District RCMP and Nova Scotia RCMP Division Liaison Team engaged in communications with community leaders, working to resolve the situation peacefully.”
RCMP received reports throughout the day that highway exits were blocked, and at around 8:30 a.m. Friday, the blockade ended.
“Seven RCMP vehicles that remained in Potlotek following the execution of the search warrant on April 2 were removed from the community this morning. Damage to the vehicles included broken windows, dents, flat tires, loose tires and water-soaked interior surfaces,” he said.
“Investigations into illegal marijuana sales, illegal blockade of Hwy. 4, vandalism of police vehicles, and related crimes are ongoing.”
Two men linked to the marijuana bust have been arrested, and officers have seized several marijuana products.

The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
