As a professional wrestling simulator, the 2K WWE series has become a complete package. It not only offers a large list of wrestlers and arena, but also a list of long types of matches. Ladder Matches, TLC, Brawls Backstage – call it, and it’s there. What else can be added in a game that already has everything?

WWE 2K25 Has several answers this year, including new types of battles: underground matches. During the recently recent preview, I gave an option for a round in a series of hard matches. Although of course not a game-Changer, it is probably just the best new mode for casual players who want to make a complex battle system a little easier to take and play.

Simple underground match: The ring does not have a rope. Players fight on a flat canvas that only has a Turnbuckles angle in its place. Some spectators stood directly in Ringside, even though the match was still in the normal arena full of fans. There is no pinfall or shipment. Players only win with KO after lowering their opponents’ health, similar to the way it works backstage. That makes WWE 2K feel more like a standard battle game.

Even though it was only a few changes in the rules, it made a few pleasant moments that changed the flow of battles. The fight was more physical because they were more about staying close to my opponent and slipped out than running a rope climbing Turnbuckles for a high flying place. In one match, I pitted the Ethan and Batu yard against each other in a hard-blow-and-slugfest blow. This is not an UFC battle, but this is the closest to the 2K series that has reached that tone.

Lack of rope opens the door for some pleasant places. In one match, I control Jade Cargill through Beatdown Liv Morgan. The crown moment of the clash came when I stuck out Liv directly from the apron and to the crowd, which was scattered out of the road. At such a time like that makes the underground match feel physical and personal like a fight backstage, but without cartoon tricks.

This feels like the best fashion for those who only want to experience WWE 2K in a relaxed atmosphere. No one has to learn how to run a pinfall, climb turnbuckles, bounce off the rope, or something. It only requires players to understand how basic attacks and hold work. There are more nuances for it, but people can focus on three buttons and still hold themselves quite well. That’s not a reason to buy WWE 2K25 By itself, but it is part of a wider update circuit that feels substantial. There are compatibility of the lineage rules, intergender clashes, new open world fashion, online games at MyGM, and many more that come in this year’s entry. I imagine that an underground compatibility will be the most substantial part of my multipemory rotation. This is the ideal way to defeat your buds.

WWE 2K25 Launched on March 14 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC if you buy one special edition. Those who choose the standard edition will get access one week later on March 7.
